Matrix Studio is owned by and is situated at the head office building of SD Commercial Holdings in Randburg, South Africa. Construction of the new complex and studio was completed in October 2008 and officially opens it's doors for industry rental in January 2009.

The Matrix Studio has been designed and built to meet the creative and technical needs of an individual photographer or an agency shoot where more than studio floor space is required.

LOCATION

The Matrix Studio is located in Boskruin, Randburg. Centralised and within easy reach of the airports, business centers and shopping malls, the studio complex has ample safe and secure parking with 24 hour security.

RECEPTION

During business hours, the reception area will welcome and direct your clients to the studio lounge.

MATRIX STUDIO LOUNGE

A large and comfortable lounge, adjoining the studio, is an ideal area to keep people out of the working studio. The air conditioned lounge has comfortable seating, a TV with DSTV, a coffee station and an 8 seater boardroom table for discussions and planning.

STUDIO

This large rectangular studio allows plenty of workspace for both sets and equipment. On one end, three of the walls have infinity curves, creating a huge infinity background. All the walls and ceiling are painted white but all four walls have sliding blackout curtain drops to blackout the studio if required. The studio is air conditioned and fully equipped with a variety of electronic photographic flash equipment to meet the needs of the most demanding photographer. A sliding lighting rail is mounted on the ceiling and most other lights are on coaster wheels. The studio has an additional large door for large props, sets or vehicle access.

DELIVERY & STORAGE

A drive-in storage area with secure roller-doors and access to the studio is available for over-night storage for valuable props and sets.

STUDIO CONTROL ROOM

Overlooking the studio working area, via glass windows, is the controll room. Fitted with a PC and printers the control room has enough working space to rig your own computers. This room is ideal for remote shooting, client work area and post production. The control room is air conditioned and sound from the studio is reduced.

FIRE-WALLED STORE ROOM

A secure store room is available to store valuable equipment if required.

BOARDROOM

A large, luxurious boardroom that seats 12 is available for important meetings or production briefings.

BAR & OUTDOOR RECREATION

A bar which leads out onto an outdoor patio is an ideal area for a catered lunch, after-shoot drinks or a braai.

ACCOMMODATION

TEA, COFFEE & FOOD

Matrix Studio offesr a coffee station in the studio lounge. Anything further such as cooldrinks, snacks or meals should either be catered for by yourself or may be ordered in from  a number of outlets. Matrix Studio is next door to the Boskruin Shopping Centre which has a Woolworths, Mugg & Bean and other convenient stores.

PLEASE NOTE

The Matrix Studio  is built below ground level, so we cannot cater for water shoots that require quick drainage. The Matrix Studio and all indoor facilities are NO SMOKING areas.
